Ad spending on all media outlets in the first two months of the year fell nearly 4.2% to 16.1 billion baht as the economy improved at a slower than expected pace. Surprisingly, internet ad spending fell 8.4%. Last year's total ad spending shrank 11.7% to 108 billion baht due to the sluggish economy, weak consumer spending and the national mourning period. Mr Triluj said he sees positive factors such as the improving economy, resumption of entertainment broadcasts on TV and the reallocation of budgets driving ad spending this year. The MAAT forecasts ad spending on all media this year to grow 10% to 144 billion baht.
